Well, today was my first day sans kids. I took Ruby to class, watched her line up and go into class. And that was it. I didn't cry, didn't feel sad, just kind of lonely. Dropped some forms off at the office, took Squig to the middle school and headed home.
When I came home, I did some cleaning and some puttering around. Nothing big. Watched a little Food Network and Home & Garden TV. Made myself a nice big breakfast. Listened to NPR. I decided that for the rest of this week I'm just going to take it easy and then next week I'll get a schedule together and get things done. For now I'm just going to help out at the school and sign up to help out at the town library.
We have a lot of yard projects we want to get done, so I'll probably get going on those. I also need to get my summer garden cleaned up. If I don't have watermelons by now, I'm not going to get any. I think the cucumbers have given up also. It was kind of a bummer for summer veggies. A lot of things just didn't take this year. Looking forward to the cooler weather for some serious root and leaf veggie action. Spinach, beets, lettuces, carrots, potatoes, etc. I'm going to clear out some space and get serious this year. I have lots of room for these things and I'm going to make it count.
Anyway, that's the plan. Let's see if I'll stick to it.
