A most uneventful day. I ordered a new conter-top composter, because I broke the last one when I dropped the lid on the pot and the whole thing shattered. It was most useful and we've really missed it. So I got a new one. Mine looks like a giant honey pot. It's blue, just like in the picture. It looks cute on the counter. It's from Plow & Hearth.
It's a lot easier to use the composter than to have a bowl of peels and stuff. With the pot, it has air holes and a filter in the lid, so the peelings don't smell (even when it's full it doesn't smell much with the lid open anyway), and you only have to empty it into the big composter outside once every day or two instead of every time you peel or chop something. When we empty it, we rinse it out with the hose and because it's dishwasher safe, we put it in to wash now and then when stuff starts sticking to the sides and won't rinse off. Can't wait for it to get here!
