I had a fun morning helping make pumpkin pies in kindergarten. They're having a Thanksgiving feast tomorrow, so they made little individual pies. They even made the crust from scratch! I was at the pie filling table. There was another mom helping at my table, and she did the dry ingredients, while I did the eggs, milk and pumpkin. Then we had the kids each take a turn stirring with a spoon, then they each had a turn stirring with a whisk. By the time they each had a turn like that, it was just right.
Note to anyone cooking with kids: If you have them keep the spoon/whisk touching the bottom of the bowl, it greatly diminishes the slopping out of the bowl.
There was a lot of licking of the batter going on, so I really hope no one gets salmonella poisoning.
